We’re pretty sure that over the last few years the festival in the steamin’ US desert, Coachella, has become the place to be during the first weeks of April. From celeb spotting, pool parties (a girl can dream) and some of the hottest acts in town (yup, we were totally fan-girling over Warpaint)- it’s quickly become the big bang to start a busy festival season- and this year was no different. With a certain Kate Nash taking over the MINKPINK instagram feed (that hair! those clothes!) and Ms Jenner and Gomez spotted rocking our very own Somedays Lovin’ and MINKPINK- it’s a been a pretty good one if we do say so ourselves, not to mention the street style too…

Oh Evil Twin, how we have missed thee. After waiting impatiently for their hot new SS14 drop- it’s finally arrived, and boy- was it worth the wait. Smattered with a selection of Clueless inspired plaid, basics with a grungy twist, exclusive new prints, acid washed denim and even some sports luxe inspired pieces- there’s no way we’ll be able to go without this season. Plus, they’ve all got ‘trans-seaonal’ written all over them- so you can bet your bottom dolla that you can rock ‘em in the rain too! Happy Shopping!
You heard it, it’s officially UK Summer time- which is pretty much the go-ahead for coats, scarves and hats to be put to the back of the wardrobe- and smocks, crops and twosie co-ords to be bought right forward, and we are loving it! So far it seems you guys are too, and we’ve been spotting some absolute babes (and some of our favourite UK bloggers) rocking MINKPINK‘s hot new SS14 collection- who could need more inspo?!
Uh oh. We think we have a girl crush- but hey, when a chick is as effortlessly cool, well styled and laid back as the (absolutely) beautiful Jade Francesca- it’s hard not to get a wee bit of style envy- plus- she can rock MINKPINK. She’s got the bohemian wanderlustin’ vibe down to a tee, puts pieces together as if she just ‘woke up like diiis’ and has us scrolling for hours. We caught up with the babe behind the blog to chat Pinterest, MINKPINK smocks and Oasis…
JADE ON…HER BLOG
My blog… rather unoriginally named after me, was first started after being an avid blog follower for 12 months and stalking total babe bloggers. I loved the sense of community that came with blogging, it’s the perfect little virtual world filled with fashion lovers – it’s nice to compliment strangers and be inspired by ordinary girls on a daily basis – in fact I’d say most bloggers I follow rock it more than your average A-lister! My blog usually ends up as a diary entry – yes, I love to chat about style but it’s a guarantee that I will ramble on and include random life rubbish – I’m nosey and love to know everything about other bloggers so I guess that reflects in my writing too.
JADE ON… PERSONAL STYLE
My personal style isn’t very consistent and ends up being quite mood reflective, I’m a sucker for boho and I guess you’ll always find underlying elements of that – even if it is in a weeks unbrushed barnet. I have a current obsession with the 90′s which is becoming more and more evident in my wardrobe. I guess on a whole it’s pretty eclectic but if I had to pick a style and stick with it I would definitely opt for a hippie vibe!
JADE ON… OUR AUSSIE BRANDS
Australian brands are killing it right now – UK take note. Brands such as MINKPINK, Evil Twin and Somedays Lovin have such a cool effortless vibe to them – it’s as if all their pieces make for the perfect ‘I just threw this together’ look whilst looking super hot. I am a sucker for anything free flowing and hippie’esque and these brands do it perfectly!!
JADE ON… GETTING STYLE INSPIRATION
Currently Pinterest is playing a huge part of style inspiration – there is so much cool imagery on there and I’m completely obsessed. I think it’s important to take inspiration from everywhere – films, books, surroundings – it sounds pretty cheesy but it’s true – if failing that I can always rely on the Olsen Twins!
JADE ON… THE PERFECT SPRING WARDROBE
For Spring I am lusting a whole load of wonderful items – I’m off on an American adventure in May so I’m very much basing my Spring wardrobe around that, I’m in the market for lots more crochet, lots more bell flared pants and I’m building upon my collection of 90′s chokers! I will be most of all glad to see the back of black tights – nothing ruins the perfect MINKPINK smock like a pair of 60 deniers!!
JADE ON… THE ULTIMATE SPRING PLAYLIST
My music collection is all about the old sounds at the minute – a some what random mix of Oasis and Otis Reading has made it’s way on to my playlist – classic old school soul meets 90′s rock and roll!
Keep up to date with Jade over on her blog!
It’s the time of the year when the sun is starting to shine (we say on the day it’s overcast), coats are almost ok to go to the back of the wardrobe- and our new collections are landing at some of our biggest retailers- yup, it’s exciting. So, to celebrate some exciting new spring drops we’ve comprised a little selection of our top picks, and statement items from some of the latest ‘New Ins’- happy shopping!
STATE OF BEING
Yup- that’s right folks, the sun is finally shining (nope, we can’t quite believe it either) and that means only one thing- sunglasses and bare legs are a go-go! Okay- so maybe not bare legs just yet, but we’re certainly feeling ready to start working those Spring pieces into our wardrobes, and leaving those coats behind- and it seems these ladies have the same idea too. Hey, who can blame them?
Ellie Goulding in MINKPINK
We are constantly on the look out for hot new fashion blogs and girls to get style crushin’ on, and trust me with so many, it ain’t easy. Cue Leigh Travers, writer of beaut British blog Fox and Feather- and owner of some of the most enviably cool style we’ve seen in ages (think a mix of Anita Pallenberg meets East London cool circa 2014). This girl not only knows how to rock vintage and the coolest brands on the block- but you guessed it, she’s a MINKPINK fan. Nope, we couldn’t love her anymore.
We caught up with Leigh to chat the perfect burger, MINKPINK’s Southern Wind two-piece and living in Woodstock 1969 style..
LEIGH ON… FOX AND FEATHER
Fox & Feather is my little space on the internet to share with the world my thoughts and opinions whether it be on fashion, art, music or my adventures and mishaps throughout my twenties (believe me, there’s quite a few!). It is primarily a fashion blog, but on a very tight budget!
LEIGH ON… PERSONAL STYLE
My personal style is dominated and inspired by the vixens of the 60′s and 70′s such as Jane Birkin, Pamela De Barres, Pamela Courson and let’s not forget Stevie Nicks! So, I would say my style is quite vintage and bohemian. I like to think I wouldn’t look too out of place if I was magically transported back to Woodstock ’69 (a girl can dream). I mainly tend to shop at charity and vintage shops and sometimes I’m lucky enough to find pieces from the decades themselves.
LEIGH ON… MINKPINK
I first discovered MINKPINK when I started working for Urban Outfitters a few years ago and it’s been love since the word ‘Go’. A lot of their pieces are actually very bohemian and vintage inspired, which is why they’re so easy to shop. It means I can wear the vintage style pieces I adore without the hassle of rummaging through vintage shops.
LEIGH ON… GETTING STYLE INSPIRATION
I’ll be honest, I’m not a pre-outfit planner. I experiment in the morning by trying different pieces, even if at first I’m unsure they’ll go together. Sometimes by experimenting you can come up with outfits you would have never even considered and more creative than you imagined. A lot of my looks are inspired by layering up as many textures and prints as possible, so basically looking like I’m wearing half of my wardrobe at once!
LEIGH ON… THE PERFECT SPRING WARDROBE
The MINKPINK Southern Wind cami and skirt co-ords have been tempting me at work! I love co-ords for this spring, so I’ll definitely be stocking up on them.
LEIGH ON… THE ULTIMATE SPRING PLAYLIST
At the moment I’ve got Temples debut album on repeat, they’re wonderfully psychedelic and if you close your eyes whilst listening to them you can almost believe you’re in the sixties! Also, I discovered brother and sister duet Wild Belle last year, but now the sun is showing it’s face (FINALLY) their reggae influenced tunes are ideal for getting in the mood for summer.
LEIGH ON… SOUTHHAMPTON
Southampton is actually the home of two universities full of creative courses so it’s a pretty creative city. It’s based right on the coastline, so if you head down to Mayflower Park you can sit with your legs over the edge and watch all the cruise ships sail off to wherever in the world those lucky souls are going. Also, in the city centre there’s a quaint, entirely volunteer run cafe called the ‘Art House‘, which offers great crafty workshops in the evenings.
If you’re after shopping we have the huge West Quay shopping mall, which people from all over Hampshire travel into town for with all the essential high street shops and restaurants. If you’re more into charity shopping like myself it’s worth venturing outside of the city centre to a suburb called Shirley in where there’s a mile long high street full of charity shops. As for food, 7-Bone is the place to be for the most delicious burger I’ve ever tasted. It recently even had it’s own Channel 4 documentary too! I’m a self-confessed addict of their burgers!

So, the HOT new exclusive MINKPINK collection has just dropped at Urban Outfitters stores, and it’s safe to say we’re a little excited. Not just that but it seems the ladies working there have been loving it too- who can blame ‘em? Plus, they’ve now supplied us with some serious styling ideas when rocking these pieces, and we can’t wait to get it all in our wardrobes!
You don’t need us to tell you how crazy we are for the new MINKPINK ‘Music Issue’ Christina Perri campaign- like, really. So imagine how psyched we were to catch these behind the scenes snaps lounging on our newsfeed last night- just a little. Just goes to show not only is Ms Perri a talented, beautiful, trendy, uber babe- but totally down to earth too. Christina y we not u?! Check out all of the images here!
Whether we’re checking out ladies rocking our brands (how rad do Leigh and Sabrina look in MINKPINK? What about Helen in Wondaland?) spotting celebs owning them on the street (yup, that’s our lady Fearne) or just generally surfing the net for the next big thing (or cool meme)- these are the things that are catching our eye- and can you blame us?
