Well what a busy weekend it’s been for us at Out and About HQ! We represented the lovely Minkpink at this years Clothes Show Live weekend in London, and what fun it was! The Clothes Show live gets bigger and better every year, and this year it was full of super cool brands, boutiques, celebs and bloggers.
Not only did we have the latest collection from Minkpink for sale for you lovely lot, but we also had a ‘Babe in a box’ photo booth to take snaps of all our little Minkpink beauties in their new purchases.
We were so glad to see so many of you there, and for those who weren’t, here’s a few snaps of the event, including the catwalk show which we also took part in. Don’t forget to buy a ticket for next year!

This is a go-to party piece brand featuring clothes which turn heads…which lets face it is what we’re all aiming for. The collection is set to a Balearic soundtrack with a round the world ticket in hand.
A huge inspiration to this brand is Jessa from the popular HBO series ‘GIRLS’ with her English eccentricty. The brand follows the minds of individual girls, exploring the world going where she wants, when she wants. Absorbing the cultures from her travels and bringing with her the most fantastic things from her travels…just like ‘English Girl’
English girls have always been some of the quirkiest free spirited girls on the planet and this brand celebrates their coolness!
We couldn’t be happier to welcome them into our studio!

We are constantly on the look out for hot new fashion blogs and girls to get style crushin’ on, and trust me with so many, it ain’t easy. Cue Leigh Travers, writer of beaut British blog Fox and Feather– and owner of some of the most enviably cool style we’ve seen in ages (think a mix of Anita Pallenberg meets East London cool circa 2014). This girl not only knows how to rock vintage and the coolest brands on the block- but you guessed it, she’s a MINKPINK fan. Nope, we couldn’t love her anymore.
We caught up with Leigh to chat the perfect burger, MINKPINK’s Southern Wind two-piece and living in Woodstock 1969 style..
LEIGH ON… FOX AND FEATHER
Fox & Feather is my little space on the internet to share with the world my thoughts and opinions whether it be on fashion, art, music or my adventures and mishaps throughout my twenties (believe me, there’s quite a few!). It is primarily a fashion blog, but on a very tight budget!
LEIGH ON… PERSONAL STYLE
My personal style is dominated and inspired by the vixens of the 60’s and 70’s such as Jane Birkin, Pamela De Barres, Pamela Courson and let’s not forget Stevie Nicks! So, I would say my style is quite vintage and bohemian. I like to think I wouldn’t look too out of place if I was magically transported back to Woodstock ’69 (a girl can dream). I mainly tend to shop at charity and vintage shops and sometimes I’m lucky enough to find pieces from the decades themselves.
LEIGH ON… MINKPINK
I first discovered MINKPINK when I started working for Urban Outfitters a few years ago and it’s been love since the word ‘Go’. A lot of their pieces are actually very bohemian and vintage inspired, which is why they’re so easy to shop. It means I can wear the vintage style pieces I adore without the hassle of rummaging through vintage shops.
LEIGH ON… GETTING STYLE INSPIRATION
I’ll be honest, I’m not a pre-outfit planner. I experiment in the morning by trying different pieces, even if at first I’m unsure they’ll go together. Sometimes by experimenting you can come up with outfits you would have never even considered and more creative than you imagined. A lot of my looks are inspired by layering up as many textures and prints as possible, so basically looking like I’m wearing half of my wardrobe at once!
LEIGH ON… THE PERFECT SPRING WARDROBE
The MINKPINK Southern Wind cami and skirt co-ords have been tempting me at work! I love co-ords for this spring, so I’ll definitely be stocking up on them.
LEIGH ON… THE ULTIMATE SPRING PLAYLIST
At the moment I’ve got Temples debut album on repeat, they’re wonderfully psychedelic and if you close your eyes whilst listening to them you can almost believe you’re in the sixties! Also, I discovered brother and sister duet Wild Belle last year, but now the sun is showing it’s face (FINALLY) their reggae influenced tunes are ideal for getting in the mood for summer.
LEIGH ON… SOUTHHAMPTON
Southampton is actually the home of two universities full of creative courses so it’s a pretty creative city. It’s based right on the coastline, so if you head down to Mayflower Park you can sit with your legs over the edge and watch all the cruise ships sail off to wherever in the world those lucky souls are going. Also, in the city centre there’s a quaint, entirely volunteer run cafe called the ‘Art House‘, which offers great crafty workshops in the evenings.
If you’re after shopping we have the huge West Quay shopping mall, which people from all over Hampshire travel into town for with all the essential high street shops and restaurants. If you’re more into charity shopping like myself it’s worth venturing outside of the city centre to a suburb called Shirley in where there’s a mile long high street full of charity shops. As for food, 7-Bone is the place to be for the most delicious burger I’ve ever tasted. It recently even had it’s own Channel 4 documentary too! I’m a self-confessed addict of their burgers!
Stay up to date and follow Leigh’s blog HERE!
With only 3 hours until closing time, and less than a day until the winner is announced (I know, we are VERY excited) we had to let you into one of THE most awesome competitions we’ve heard about all summer. MINKPINK and Urban Outfitters are giving you lovely people the chance to win a £500 shopping spree with blogger Olivia Purvis from What Olivia Did– plus, all you have to do it enter a few deets. Simple right? Plus, some of our fave bloggers have helped us out by styling one of MINKPINK’s most awesome dresses this summer, the King of the Jungle. Click each pic to check out the blog- and don’t forget to enter here!
(Sara wears the Soul Hunter Blanket Top)
With a collection of MINKPINK to make most showrooms jealous, a knack for styling that could leave Rachel Zoe quaking in her Louboutins and a cute cat to go- this is a girl crush and a half. We caught up with the babe behind the bleach, to chat carboots, Vanessa Hudgens and that MINKPINK rainbow lace set…
SARA ON… PERSONAL STYLE
My personal style is a little bit of everything really, If I had to describe it, I would probably say grunge boho? I love trying to be different! I’m constantly on the hunt to find unique pieces in charity shops or vintage, and mixing them up with my favourite brands.
SARA ON… MINKPINK
I’ve never met a piece of MinkPink I didn’t like, I love all the vintage inspired and boho prints they do, especially on their babydoll style grungy dresses, but unlike vintage they fit perfectly! The lookbooks are always so inspiring too, the images and styling is always amazing!
(Sara wears the Distant Traveller dress)
SARA ON…OUTFIT PLANNING
I try not to! my best outfits seem to come when I least think about what I’m wearing, and a lot of my favourite outfits are happy accidents! I’m not much of a planner, but I get my inspiration from other bloggers and Tumblr mostly- I feel like they’re a lot more inspiring than a fashion magazine. Also anything Vanessa Hudgens is wearing at the moment, massive girl crush!
SARA ON…LUST WORTHY ITEMS
London has some of the BEST carboots-I’ve got some amazing things from the Wimbledon one, and Battersea is great for cheap vintage/crochet pieces!
SARA ON… INSPIRATION IN THE BIG CITY
Yes, I feel London is the one place you literally can just wear (pretty much) anything and no one bats an eyelid. I love how eclectic Londoners can look. There’s so many creative people here and always so many things to do.
SARA ON… SUMMER PLAYLISTS
Well you should ALWAYS have Lana Del Rey no matter what, then who I’m currently listening to on repeat is: Bipolar Sunshine, Peace, Crystal Fighters and MS MR <3
