This weekend, we’re heading North- and where better to enjoy a good night out (and fun day out on the town, duh) than Yorkshire’s finest, Leeds. With the city centre offering every high-street lovers dream (including our very own Urban Outfitters– I spy new MINKPINK), as well as a dreamy amount of vintage shopping, plus some awesome boutiques hidden in the Corn Exchange- it’s the perfect place for a not-so-far weekend away- here’s where we’ll be heading…
Love Rouge Bakery– 51 Otley Road- Saturday’s 9-5, Sunday’s 10-4
Be it Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon there’s few things we enough more than a good sugary mug of tea (crumpets and butter optional). So, where nicer to spend an hour or so, than curled up in the cosy depths of Love Rouge bakery. Just outside of Leeds city centre, this little gem offers a huge selection of cupcakes (totally Instagram worthy), brownies and some breakfasty-bites not worth missing out on!
Four words: Saturday night Leeds Academy. A stop off at Leeds’ favourite night-time venue should go without saying in our books, and this weekend brings the NME Tour 2013- with the likes of Miles Kane, Django Django, Peace and Palma Violets- A.K.A some of the coolest acts in the country. On top of that, post gig there’s Propaganda A.K.A one of the coolest club nights in the country- we’ll see you on the dance floor.
Vintage shopping & Blue Rinse

No, we’re not suggesting you head out and sort your barnet out with this age old dying trend- rather pay a sneaky visit to one of the North’s coolest second hand treasure chests. With the interwebs describing Leeds as a ‘Mecca for vintage’ it’s pretty self explanatory that we should pop haven Blue Rinse, on our list. With their selection covering 3 massive floors, and a ‘Remade in England’ range that is even stocked in Urban Outfitters- we suggest you quick foot it over, and fast!
That’s not all…
-Hit The Deaf Institute for some seriously awesome breakfast and lunchtime treats-Bird’s Yard for crafty and independent boutiques- Cupcakes by Charley in the city centre boast some pretty tasty lookin’ treats- Head to Harvey Nics for some indulgent shopping and make-up swooning…-

This weekend we’re hitting the great British sea side (but staying firmly out of the chilly water), and bringing you the best attractions from one of the most buzzing U.K cities- Brighton. With main attractions ranging from the traditional ride and candy floss fuelled pier and fish and chip shops dotted along the sea front- there’s far more to Brighton than these traditional beachy greats. With burgers, vintage shopping and post Christmas ice skating on our agenda- we show you where’s hot this time of the year…
Ice Skating at the Royal Pavillion– Until 20th January (get ya skates on!)
Just because Christmas is over for another year, doesn’t mean we can put our skates away just yet. With just over a week left before closing, it’s time to make of Brighton’s ice skating at one of the most beautiful and prime locations in the city- The Royal Pavilion This place looks like something from a seriously awesome film, and to make it better? Jamie Oliver has his Fabulous Feasts there. Count. Us. In.
JB’s American Style Diner– 31 Kings Road, Brighton- Open 9am-10pm
Perched at the corner sitting right along the seafront, JB’s diner is the authentic U.S of A dining experience- with everything you could wish for on a damn tasty menu (the veggie burgers are even amazing). Even if you simply fancy grabbing a shake (make it V.I.P) or some heaped pancakes in a place where you’ll feel like Sandy from Grease- you’ll be in the right place. We’ll have a JB’s classic, real strawberry milkshake and sweety tweety pancakes to finish-please?
Brighton Lanes (and their abundance of vintage shops)- All year round, but not to be missed
Okay so the Lanes are there all year round, but when you can’t go paddling in the sea and battling seagulls away from your vinegar lathered chips then what can you do? Hit them of course! With go-to’s such as Snoopers Paradise tucked away (and packed full of vintage home and fashion items), my favourite ever Angel Food bakery (don’t leave without an Oreo cupcake) and sweet shops such as Caramella to hand- you’re in for some treats (be it sweet or not…)
That’s not all…
-Hit Scoop and Crumb for some amazing ice cream and other lunch time nibbles- If the weather holds out it’d be rude to hit The Pier- Head to the Blackbird Tea Rooms for some traditional English brew- For the best breakfast, brownies and salads in town go over to Tic Toc cafe- delish!-
